42nd NYS Open Senior Championships
Brewster, NY November 1, 2020 – The NYS USBC kicked off the 2020 – 2021 Season at AMF Pin-o-Rama Lanes in Utica with Open Seniors Championships. A total of 69 teams and 121 singles hit the lanes over two weekends. Charles Trudell, Glenn Hashizumi, John Bohall and Maria Johansen rose to top of the pack all claiming prizes in all 3 events.
Trudell from Syracuse was the top performer of the event, finishing first in all three events. Rolling a 1462 with his partner David Demperio (Syracuse) they claimed the title in Class B Doubles. Trudell was also first in Class A singles with a 746 and Class A Combine with a 1485.
Hashizumi from Binghamton captured the crown in the Class C Combine with a six game total of 1495. He also finished first in Class C doubles with Randy Snyder from Appalachin they rolled a 1444. Hashizumi’s third prize came in Class C singles with a 712 for fourth place.
Weedsport’s Bohall was the champion in Class E Singles shooting 789. He combined with Michael Ryan, also from Weedsport, for a 1435 to finish in first place in Class E Doubles. Bohall’s final prize was second place in Class E Combine with a score of 1449.
Johansen from Highland captured the crown in the Super Seniors Singles with a 711. She combined with Robert Tyler rolling a 1277 for first place in the Super Seniors Doubles. She was also second the Super Seniors Combine with 1386.
Demperio was also third in Class C singles rolling 715 and fourth place in the Class C Combine shooting 1438. Schenectady’s Joe “Flash” Gordon and Stephen Fawcett rolled 1442 claiming first place in Class A doubles. Flash was also the Super Seniors Combine Champion rolling a 1490.
Bruce Duerr from Endicott claimed the title in Class D singles shooting 824, second in the Class D Combine with a 1541 and teamed-up with his brother James rolling a 1362 finishing fourth place in Class C Doubles. Patrick Burton from North Chili claimed the title in Class C Singles rolling a 775 and third place in the Class C Combine with a 1453.

John Sickles & Anthony Cacckello from Ravena 1462 – Class D Doubles
Kenneth Dubois from Johnstown 1559 – Class D Combine
Dennis “Butch” Van Gorden from Cicero 1541 – Class E Combine
