Peter M. Sheridan, 80, of Cortland, NY passed away on January 4, 2023 at UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Peter was born October 27, 1942 son of the late Dr. Gerald and Helen F. Sheridan. Peter started working at Recreation Alleys till 1990 when he started purchasing the business, where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Pete made many friends over the years at the lanes. Some of his proudest moments were hosting senior PBA regional tournaments for 8 years.
USBC Hall Of Famer Dave Davis Dies at Age 80

United States Bowling Congress and Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer Dave Davis of Lake Placid, Florida, died Dec. 29 at the age of 80.
Davis was elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 1978 and USBC Hall of Fame for Superior Performance in 1990 as one of the sport’s most dominant players through the 1960s and 1970s.
Former NYS WBA Manager Nancy Walczyk Passes Away

Former New York State Womens Bowling Association Manager and recipient of the 2014 Helen Baker Award from the United States Bowling Congress, passed away on Saturday (Dec. 17, 2022) after a brief illness. She was 79.
Online Registration Now Available for All NYS Adult Tournaments

The New York State USBC has opened the Online Registration portal for the upcoming spring tournaments. Team Captains can sign-up, manage and pay for their teams online if they choose. The office will still accept paper applications which need to be mailed to the association office with the appropriate fees.

Ryan Shafer Named 2022 Tony Reyes Community Service Award Winner

Ryan Shafer, a 35-year PBA Tour veteran and five-time titleist, has been selected as the 2022 Tony Reyes Community Service Award winner. Shafer’s efforts have raised over $35,000 for mental health workers and families in need in New York state.
Jagodzinkski Wins NYS Senior Masters in a Roll-off

Chuck Jagodzinski from Lancaster needed an extra two frames to capture his first NYS Seniors Masters Title at Allie Brandt Lanes in Lockport. Mike Johnson from Grand Island was the runner-up in this annual event with 46 bowlers from around the state competing.
