New York State USBC Accepting Entries for Masters & Queens Tournaments

Brewster, NY – The New York State USBC is now accepting entries for the two major singles events for bowlers in New York State. Dates and details were released on Sunday evening after learning the details of the USBC COVD Aid package.

For the first event bowlers will head to Rensselaer County for the 31st Annual NYS Masters Championship at East Greenbush Bowling Center on Saturday, March 6. The day begins at 9:30 AM with the first of 2 separate 5 game qualifying rounds for the top bowlers in the state. After the qualifying is complete 20% of the field will advance to head-to-head match play finals.

The semi-final rounds will consist of single elimination 2 game matches until a champion is crowned. In addition to first place prize money, the winner will receive a paid entry for the 2022 USBC Masters and $200 towards expenses. New York State USBC will also add $700 to the prize fund coming from the COVID Aid Package.

In April the top female bowlers in the state will head to Western New York for the 49th Annual Queens Tournament at AMF Lancaster Lanes in Depew. Qualifying begins at 11:00 with a 5-game block for all bowlers. After qualifying is complete the top 16 bowlers will advance to a bracket style head-to-head semi-final round.

The semi-finals will consist of one game single elimination matches until there are only 4 bowlers left. Those 4 bowlers will then advance to the step ladder finals to determine the champion. Much like the masters, the champion in this event will receive a paid entry into the 2021 USBC Queens, plus $150 towards expenses. New York State USBC will $500 to the prize fund coming from the COVID AID Package.
