Long Island USBC Mourns the Loss of Jim Maguire

Centereach, NY – The Long Island Bowling Community lost a friend and mentor, Jim Mcguire this past Friday. He was long time director and helped lead the transition to USBC.
Maguire served at the Association Manager of the Eastern Long Island and Long Island Youth Bowling Association prior to the formation of USBC. When the all Associations merged to form the Long Island USBC, Maguire was integral part of the merger and named Association Manager where he served until his retirement in 2015.
In addition to years of service in Long Island, Maguire also served on both the state and national level. He was also a founding member of the Northeast Council of Bowling Associations.
For those wishing to pay respect to Mr. Maguire, viewing hours will be Tuesday, January 5 from 2:00 -4:30 & 7:00 - 9:30 at Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway (110), Amityville, NY. The Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:45 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, Massapequa, NY, Followed by interment with Military Honors at St. Johns Cemetery, Middle Village. Donations may be made to L.I. USBC, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home or by contacting the Long Island USBC.
